JARED REED is an artist based in Durango, Colorado. Working mainly in acrylic medium, his work focuses on blending the inspiration of his Southwest home with his contemporary vision. He enjoys making work that is bold and colorful, bringing a fresh take on timeless, iconic subjects.
While working towards a degree in art education at the Peck School for the Arts at UW-Milwaukee, he pivoted, taking on a large role in a business owned and operated by his family. Although his creative practice hibernated while learning various niche trades, he began a new creative chapter in the spring of 2023 with the occupation of a new studio space in downtown Durango. He draws his inspiration from his southwest surroundings, skateboard culture, street art and many artists old and new.
