My interest in projected self-image shows up in my depictions of clothing, shop windows, storefronts, and automobiles. Thinking graphically and painting in a realistic style is a natural for me. My work is dynamic and vibrant with a perspective that pulls the viewer in and allows them to immediately sense a familiarity with the subject matter. Most of this imagery has a personal connection for me.
Clothing can figure prominently in my work influenced by my tailor grandmother who was a creative force in my life. Much of my technique is informed by my former occupation as a trompe l’oeil painter and sign artist.
